Travel:

How will I get to the hotel from the airport and between events?

Guests: Upon your arrival in Québec City, please make your way through the baggage claim area and look for your driver, who will be holding a sign with the Destination Canada logo. Your driver will escort you to your vehicle and take you directly to the hotel. During the program, Destination Canada will provide all transportation. Whenever possible, events will be held within walking distance of the hotel. Please bring comfortable walking shoes and layers, as the temperature at the beginning of September in Québec City can fluctuate. For any transfers, please meet in the hotel lobby.

Partners: We kindly ask that you make your own way between the airport and hotel. Destination Canada is encouraging partners to share rides from the airport to the hotel, to reduce our carbon footprint. We will gladly make connections and share arrival times with the partners. During the program, Destination Canada will provide all transportation. What do I need in order to travel to Canada?

To travel to Canada, you must have a valid passport. Canadian and US citizens do not require anything further. Citizens of other countries may require an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) or a visa, depending on nationality and mode of travel.

Destination Canada has put together this helpful video to walk you though the eTA process. This step-by-step guide explains how to find out whether you need an electronic travel authorization (eTA), a visitor visa (temporary resident visa)—or neither—then walks you through the entire application process.

To assist with your entry requirements into Canada, we have obtained a Canadian Border Services Agency (CBSA) clearance letter for Innovate Canada that will be sent to you prior to travel.

To expedite border procedures, we recommend that all international attendees have a copy of this letter ready for presentation to the CBSA Border Services officer upon their arrival to Canada. It will be sent to you via email prior to the start of the program.

What should I wear?

September in Québec City offers comfortable, mild days and cool evenings, with average temperatures ranging from 8C to 20C (46F - 68F). It is a transitional month, bringing a mix of warm, sunny weather and crisp autumn air, with, on average, high rainfall, making it ideal for walking but requiring layered clothing.
